First Session: Eat, Dash, and Open Stats

Start an Evolve a Cell run by eating nearby plants, dashing with Space, and opening Stats before you chase anything larger than you.

What the first minutes are for

Evolve a Cell starts you as a tiny cell in a pond. The official listing says you eat plants or hunt other cells, including other players, then evolve by adding parts. Each server holds 16 players. Anything bigger can end the size you just gained, so the opening is about food you can take without a fight.

Controls that were actually shown

A short gameplay video of this Roblox experience says to press Space to dash. The same video opens an upgrades screen and presses E. The narrator never says what E does, so this guide does not assign E a job.

Charts that list WASD, Shift-to-dash, or Tab-to-upgrade are generic evolution-game layouts. They disagree with the Space dash spoken in the video. Follow prompts on your own screen.

Opening order

  1. Eat nearby plants and other food that is not attached to a larger cell.
  2. Keep Space ready so you can dash when something turns toward you.
  3. Leave cells and players that are clearly larger. Both can hunt you.
  4. When you have a gap, open the upgrades screen and also open Stats.
  5. If a level will not advance, look in Stats for yellow entries that are still locked. That was the reply given to a player stuck between level 6 and level 7.

You are past the opening when

You are still alive, you have eaten, and you have either bought an upgrade or unlocked something yellow in Stats. Extra size does not help if a larger cell is already on you.

Still unknown

The auto-caption garbles the click that opens upgrades, so this page does not name a mouse button. Mobile and controller layouts were not shown.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Evolve a Cell?

Evolve a Cell is a free Roblox simulation by Splitline: Creative. You play a tiny cell in a pond, eat plants or hunt other cells (including players), add body parts, paint your creature, and grow toward giant bosses.

Are there working Evolve a Cell codes?

No code string has been published on the official game page, and placeholder labels are not codes. The in-game redeem button, if one exists, has not been confirmed.

How do I dash?

A gameplay video of this experience says to press Space to dash. Other keys such as E are pressed in that video, but the video never explains what E does.

Which body parts are real?

The official description names jaws, spikes, eyes, and tails, and says you can add more. Players have also named antenna, drill, leech mouth, zapper, tentacle, poison sac, flagellum, and stinger. Stat numbers for those parts are not published.

What does the level 7 colossal prompt mean?

A player at level 6 said the game required them to colossal before level 7. The exact requirement was not explained. Open Stats and unlock any yellow entries, then read the prompt on your own screen.

Does a high rebirth count stop you from losing?

No. A player reported 50 rebirths and still losing fights. Rebirth exists, but the reset rules and reward numbers are not published.
